The Inaugural Hall of Fame Dinner to was held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Fountainhead in New Rochelle.

Mission Statement
The purpose of the Iona Prep Hall of Fame is to formally recognize and publicly honor those who have distinguished themselves in a variety of endeavors, those who have contributed significantly to the growth and spirit of the Prep, and whose lives continue to reflect the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the teachings of the Christian Brothers.
Selection Committee Structure and Guidelines

The Selection Committee will be responsible for the planning and staging the annual induction ceremony/dinner.

The Selection Committee shall consist of the Iona Prep’s President ; Alumni Director; members of the Alumni Board; representation from the Alumni Association.

The Selection Committee will not exceed ELEVEN members.

The Selection Committee will elect a Chair. The Chairman shall manage the Committee’s affairs and conduct its meetings. Election will be by simple majority.

Two-thirds representation at a Selection Committee meeting constitutes a quorum.

The Selection Committee shall/may elect new members by vote of simple majority, provided a quorum is reached.

Nominees will be elected by simple majority. Upon a nominee’s election, the Selection Committee shall notify the nominee of his/her election and verify his/her acceptance and willingness to participate in the induction ceremony.

Selection Committee Guidelines can be amended by simple majority. A quorum is necessary.

The Selection Committee shall operate under the auspices of the Alumni Office.

The Selection Committee will adopt these Guidelines by a simple majority.
Nominations
Nominations can be made by anyone and submitted to the Alumni Office for review by the Selection Committee. The Iona Prep Hall of Fame form must be completed and the qualifications of the proposed inductee must be set forth in the form.
The Selection Committee shall have the discretion to narrow the field of nominees and will choose the candidates entering Iona Prep’s Hall of Fame. The number of candidates selected will be at the discretion of the Selection Committee, not to exceed TEN.
The criteria concerning candidates entering the Hall of Fame, i.e, combination of each class entering the Hall of Fame will be left to the discretion of the Selection Committee.
Eligibility/Criteria
Athletes/Coaches
The Selection Committee will consider candidates who have distinguished themselves in the athletic arena. Candidates are recognized as individuals dedicated to and supportive of the mission of Iona Prep, representing the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the teachings of the Christian Brothers.
Alumni
The Selection Committee will consider alumni candidates who have distinguished themselves after graduating from Iona Prep and who are dedicated to and supportive of the mission of Iona Prep. Candidates selected will best represent the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the teachings of the Christian Brothers.
Iona Prep Faculty/Staff
The Selection Committee will consider candidates who have been loyal exceptional leaders, dedicated to and supportive of the mission of Iona Prep. Candidates selected represent the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the teachings of the Christian Brothers.
Parents/Friends of Iona Prep
The Selection Committee will choose from parents and friends dedicated to and supportive of the mission of Iona Prep. Candidates chosen have made unique individual or collective contributions to preserve and perpetuate the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the teachings of the Christian Brothers.
